September with Crystal Dawn

Hello, welcome to September!

Hey loves,

There is something about September that has always felt like a threshold to me. A beginning instead of an ending, and after the intensity of August? Oofda! We definitely need a beginning.

We just came through eclipse season. We looked at things differently. Some things were revealed. Some things were shaken loose. Some of us probably had a few moments of:

“Oh. Well. I can’t unsee that now.”

But seeing something is only the beginning. The real work is deciding what you’re going to do with what you’ve seen.

September is asking, “What are you going to do with what you now know?”

Becoming doesn’t always look like some giant reinvention. Sometimes it looks like leaving something behind. Saying no. Changing your mind. Admitting that the life you thought you wanted isn’t actually the life you want anymore.

Sometimes becoming looks like sitting quietly in the middle of uncertainty and saying:

I don’t know what’s next yet. But I know I can’t go back to what was. That counts, too!

You don’t have to have the whole journey mapped out. You just have to be willing to meet what comes next.

That’s where September’s astrology gets really interesting. I’d be honored to help you navigate your next steps.

Elemental Wisdom

Every month I’ll share a little guidance for each of the four elements. Read for your Sun, Moon, and Rising signs… you may be surprised by which message resonates most.

Fire Signs (Aries • Leo • Sagittarius)

You don’t have to burn yourself out to prove you’re passionate.

Let yourself want something. Just don’t confuse urgency with inspiration.

Ask yourself:

What actually lights me up anymore?

Earth Signs (Taurus • Virgo • Capricorn)

Ground before you grow. Clean your space. Make the appointment. Fix the thing you’ve been avoiding. Drink some water. Get your calendar under control.

The practical things matter.

Ask yourself:

What would help me feel supported enough to grow?

Air Signs (Gemini • Libra • Aquarius)

Stop thinking your way out of something your body already knows.

You don’t need another 47 tabs open in your brain.

Ask yourself:

What truth have I been overthinking?

Water Signs (Cancer • Scorpio • Pisces)

Feel your feelings without letting them swallow you.

Your sensitivity isn’t a weakness, but you also don’t have to carry every emotion that enters the room.

Ask yourself:

What belongs to me, and what am I carrying for someone else?

Key Dates & Transits

September 10th is an overachiever… New Moon in Virgo, Venus enters Scorpio, Uranus retrogrades in Gemini and Mercury enters Libra!

VIRGO NEW MOON

This is one of my favorite energies for September’s theme. The Virgo New Moon asks:

What can you actually do?

Look at the small things that create the life you’re trying to build: your routines, work, schedule, habits, environment and relationship with your own time and energy.

You don’t need to reinvent your entire life. Pick one thing. One habit. One decision. One tiny change that supports the person you’re becoming. Your life is built out of tiny choices repeated over time.

VENUS ENTERS SCORPIO

Venus in Scorpio doesn’t really do superficial.

Tell me the truth.

Tell me what you really want.

Tell me what’s underneath that.

The good news is relationships can deepen. Dreams can become clearer. BUT, anything built on pretending may make you increasingly aware change must happen to become the next version of yourself.

Where am I settling? Where am I withholding? Am I being honest about what I want, or what I think I should want?

That’s a very different question, but one that needs to be answered.

Uranus stations retrograde in Gemini

"Change is the only constant in life."

Uranus is a planet that stands for reform, illusion and unexpected change. This retrograde of Uranus in Gemini can bring a lot of changes on a global scale especially in the world of communication. On a personal level our attention turns inward focusing on how we communicate with others and ourselves and the way we process change.

Mercury enters Libra

This transit is bringing more balance and perspective to our conversations. The goal in the majority of conversations will be justice.

SEPTEMBER 17 | CHIRON RETURNS TO ARIES

Chiron returns to Aries, where it will remain until April 2027.

Chiron is often associated with old wounds, but I think of it as something more hopeful, the place where pain can eventually become wisdom.

Aries is about identity, courage, independence and the right to exist as yourself. So Chiron asks:

“Who am I when I’m not trying to be what someone else needs? What happens when I choose myself? What part of myself have I been waiting for permission to become?”

This may not be a dramatic declaration of a new identity.

It may simply be the quiet realization, Oh. That’s why I’ve been doing that.

Once you see it, you can choose differently. That’s healing.

SEPTEMBER 22 | LIBRA SEASON + AUTUMN EQUINOX

The Sun enters Libra and we arrive at the Autumn Equinox. Day and night stand in balance. Then the balance begins to shift. Libra asks us to look at relationships, reciprocity, choice and harmony.

Remember, Balance does not mean keeping everyone else happy. Sometimes balance means finally including yourself in the equation. Where are you over giving of yourself?

Where have you confused peace with silence? Where are you making yourself smaller so someone else can stay comfortable?

This Libra season isn’t asking for perfect harmony.

It’s asking for honest harmony. Those are not always the same thing.

SEPTEMBER 26 | ARIES FULL MOON

Full Moon in Aries Drum roll for the big finish…

The Aries Full Moon brings fire, courage, identity and forward momentum. Something may become very clear. A decision may need to be made.

Something you’ve been sitting with may finally reach the point where you can’t keep pretending you don’t know.

And with that, suddenly September’s whole story comes together:

Virgo: Get honest.

Scorpio: Go deeper.

Chiron: Heal the old story.

Libra: Find the balance.

Aries: Now choose.

Not because you’re fearless.

Not because you know exactly how everything will turn out.

But because you’ve finally gotten honest enough with yourself to know what you can’t keep doing.

A Little Candle Magic

You don’t need a cauldron, a crystal collection, or an altar covered in mysterious objects to work a little magic. Sometimes, all you need is a candle, an intention, and a few quiet minutes to yourself.

Candle magic is one of the simplest ways to focus your energy. The flame becomes a physical representation of your intention, helping you bring your attention to what you’re calling in, releasing, protecting, or transforming and yes, the color of the candle can add another layer of intention.

WHITE
Purification, peace, clarity, new beginnings, and spiritual protection. White is also a great all-purpose candle when you don’t have the color you need.

GREEN
Abundance, prosperity, growth, healing, and new opportunities. Light green when you’re calling more of something into your life.

RED
Passion, courage, vitality, confidence, and love. Think of red as fiery, active energy.

PINK
Love, friendship, compassion, self-love, and emotional healing. Pink is softer than red and beautiful for heart-centered intentions.

Choose a candle that matches your intention. Before lighting it, take a moment to get really clear about what you’re asking for.

You can even carve a word, symbol, intention, or someone’s name into the candle before lighting it.

Want to send loving energy toward someone? Carve their name into a pink or red candle and spend a few moments visualizing them surrounded by love and light.

Want protection? Use a white candle and carve the word PROTECTED into it. As it burns, imagine a bright energetic boundary surrounding you and your home.

Calling in abundance? Try green and carve ABUNDANCE or GROWTH into the wax.

The important part isn’t having the “perfect” candle or knowing every rule of witchcraft. It’s your intention and your attention. The candle simply gives that energy somewhere to go.

And remember: magic isn’t about controlling another person or forcing an outcome. It’s about working with your own energy, intentions, and awareness.

Light the candle. Take a breath. Focus your attention.

Then let the magic unfold.

Until next time

You are allowed to become someone your old self couldn’t have imagined.

So this month, don’t ask yourself:

“What am I supposed to do?”

Try asking:

“What is trying to become through me?”

Then listen. Really listen. Because the answer might not arrive as some giant lightning bolt.

It might be a quiet knowing. A little nudge. A version of yourself whispering: It’s time.

With love and magic,

Crystal Dawn
