October: Reclaiming Your PowerHey loves, Libra season is here, and with it comes one of the biggest questions of the year: What does justice and balance actually look like in our lives? We are living through a moment when the scales can feel anything but balanced, especially for women who are asking for accountability and justice in the face of violence, violation, and harm done to us. There is something powerful about watching women speak up, tell the truth, demand better, and refuse to quietly carry what was never theirs to carry. This is where I think astrology can be incredibly useful. Not because astrology can tell us what will happen or magically fix what has happened to us, but because it can give us a roadmap for understanding ourselves while we move through it. It can help us recognize patterns, understand where we give our power away, identify what we have outgrown, and become more intentional about what we choose next. October is especially focused on that work. Relationships, trust, boundaries, power, self-worth, and the ways we attach to other people are all coming under the microscope. While some of what surfaces may be uncomfortable, this is where change begins. Sometimes reclaiming your power doesn’t look like a dramatic ending. Sometimes it looks like finally seeing something clearly. Sometimes it looks like choosing yourself. And sometimes it simply looks like deciding you will not repeat the same pattern again. October has a simple question for you: Which connections reflect the person you’re becoming, and which ones have you outgrown? ⸻ Elemental Wisdom Earth Signs Taurus · Virgo · Capricorn You’re being asked to stop carrying what was never yours. Choose stability that supports the person you’re becoming, not comfort that keeps you stuck. Air Signs Gemini · Libra · Aquarius Your relationships are showing you what feels balanced and what doesn’t. Speak your truth, ask for what you need, and let reciprocity become your new standard. Fire Signs Aries · Leo · Sagittarius Your power is returning, but you don’t have to prove anything to anyone. Follow what lights you up and trust that choosing yourself is not selfish. Water Signs Cancer · Scorpio · Pisces Your intuition knows which connections feel safe and which ones drain you. Protect your energy, honor your feelings, and make space for relationships that feel like home. ⸻ October Astrology The Month Everything Begins to Turn Inward October is asking us to slow down, look beneath the surface, and get honest about what is and isn’t working. There is a lot of retrograde energy this month. Venus and Mercury both turn retrograde, while Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune continue their retrogrades and Pluto turns direct. In other words, October is not exactly screaming GO! GO! GO! It’s asking us to look back, reassess, and choose more intentionally. Saturn asks us to reconsider our commitments. Uranus asks us to question old ways of thinking. Neptune asks us to separate intuition from illusion. Venus asks us to examine our relationships and values, while Mercury asks us to rethink how we communicate. And Pluto? Pluto wants us to face the transformation that has already been happening beneath the surface. October 3 • Venus Retrograde in Scorpio The self-examination begins as Venus, the planet of love, beauty, relationships, and values, stations retrograde in Scorpio. Love, intimacy, trust, desire, money, and power come under review. If the same relationship themes keep showing up, October is asking you to get curious about why. What are you tolerating? Where are you giving your power away? What do you actually need from the people you allow close to you? And on the same day, Mars opposes Pluto, adding even more intensity. Conflicts at home or with family could push buttons and bring power struggles to the surface. When emotions run high, try not to take every invitation to battle. You don’t have to react simply because someone knows how to provoke you. October 10 • New Moon in Libra The Libra New Moon gives us an opportunity to begin again around partnership and connection. Where have you been compromising too much? Where are you taking responsibility for things that aren’t actually yours? What would a genuinely reciprocal relationship look like? This is a beautiful moment to set intentions around relationships that feel balanced, supportive, and mutual. October 15 • Pluto Direct in Aquarius Something that has been shifting beneath the surface may finally become easier to see. You may realize that you’ve already outgrown something you were still trying to make yourself fit into. And sometimes that realization is enough. Transformation often begins with something much quieter than a life-altering decision. Oh. I do this every time. Oh. That’s why this keeps happening. Oh. I don’t actually want this anymore. That moment of awareness is powerful because once you can see the pattern, you get to decide whether you want to keep participating in it. October 23 • Sun Enters Scorpio We move deeper into Scorpio season, turning our attention toward truth, transformation, intimacy, and everything that exists beneath the surface. This is where October really begins to ask us to stop skimming the surface of our lives. What are you avoiding? What are you pretending not to know? What truth has been waiting for you to acknowledge it? October 24 • Venus Cazimi + Mercury Retrograde in Scorpio Venus reaches the heart of the Sun in a cazimi, potentially illuminating something important about love, relationships, values, and self-worth. Then Mercury stations retrograde in Scorpio. This is not the time for passive-aggressive hints, pretending everything is fine when it isn’t, or expecting people to read your mind. Scorpio wants the truth, even when the truth is uncomfortable. Say what you mean. Ask the question. Have the conversation. Then listen to what comes back. October 25 • Venus Returns to Libra Venus retrogrades back into Libra, giving us another opportunity to reconsider what partnership, harmony, and reciprocity really mean to us. True harmony isn’t the absence of conflict. Sometimes harmony is being able to have the hard conversation without abandoning yourself in the process. Remember: Harmony doesn’t require you to abandon yourself to keep the peace. October 26 • Full Moon in Taurus And finally, October closes with a Full Moon in Taurus, bringing our attention back to self-worth, security, boundaries, and the things we have been working toward over the past six months. Bring it back to yourself. Take a moment to look back. What have you survived? What have you changed? What boundaries have you created? What are you no longer willing to tolerate? And perhaps most importantly: Can you see how far you’ve come? Astrology doesn’t make the choices for you. It helps you understand the terrain so you can make them more consciously. Sometimes reclaiming your power begins with nothing more dramatic than realizing: I don’t want to do this anymore. ⸻ October Playlist I’ve put together an October playlist for all of this reclaiming, releasing, remembering, and becoming. Until Next Time… Give Your Imagination Some Room As we settle into a new season, I want to encourage you to do something that I don’t think we talk about enough: Read a fiction book. I love a good nonfiction book. I love learning, personal growth, psychology, spirituality, and all the books that make us think about our lives differently, but I also tell my clients to pick up a fiction book every once in a while. Something completely unnecessary. Something magical. Something romantic or strange or thrilling or fantastical. Something that doesn’t teach you how to become a better version of yourself because sometimes your imagination needs somewhere to go. We spend so much of our time consuming information, improving ourselves, solving problems, working, planning, and trying to be productive. Give yourself permission to simply wander into another world for a while. Let your imagination run wild. October is a pretty perfect month for that. ⸻ With love & a little magic, Crystal Dawn Astrology · Coaching · Reiki · Oracle · Magic Where astrology meets compassion, magic meets intention, and hope is always the strongest magic of all.
